Take Classes with Wendy

Wendy loves teaching this technical art form to all age groups. No matter your age or ability, there is always room for growing quilting skills.

She says: “I live and breath all things “quilty”. When you come to me for classes or for quilting, you’ll see sewing from a slightly different angle than you’ve experienced in the past. I love tools!! You’ll get to see what I use for accuracy and speed, and how I apply my engineering skills. Utility and technical meet creativity!”

Classes are perfect if...

  • You're just learning to quilt and want to grow in your skills.

  • You've been quilting for a while, even consider yourself an experienced quilter, and want some new tips for efficiency or to add to your collection of creative ideas.

  • You don't even know where to start but know you want to learn.

  • You'd love to teach your kids or grandkids how to quilt but want some assistance doing so.

If one of these sounds like you, then Crispin Studios has a class for you!

We've partnered with Post Falls Park & Rec to offer these classes through their "Workshops" program. Plus, one-on-one tutoring with Wendy using a longarm machine is available at Gizmo in Coeur d'Alene!

Machine Basics

Learn all about your sewing machine while completing a pillowcase project!

An introduction to sewing, this class will help you learn the basics -- winding a bobbin, pinning fabric, and how to adjust tension. Get familiar with your machine AND take home a fun pillowcase you completed!

No piecing or cutting in this first introduction class. Pre-made pillowcase kits are included in this class.

Confident Beginner (Intermediate)

Have you made a few quilts and understand the basics of quilting, but want to take your skills to the next level?

As a confident beginner, you can now start focusing on piecing accuracy and details. Work on making your points align and taking the frustration out of piecing.

This class will help you improve your quilting skills, moving you toward mastery using the Raspberry Sherbert quilt pattern. This pattern uses all the skills of the beginner class but has a specific focus on direction of ironing, nesting, and seam allowance for accuracy.
